Negatieve ervaring: From 5 stars to 1 (it would be zero if that were possible) I was a loyal member here for roughly 10 years. A few months ago, I left a negative review because of overcrowding. Management reached out, promised improvements, and I removed my review in good faith. I waited. Unfortunately, not only did it not improve — it continues to get worse, and at an even faster pace. Since the acquisition by TrainMore, the gym has become extremely overcrowded. Maintenance is lacking, machines and facilities are regularly broken, and cleanliness has declined significantly. It’s not surprising when you see how many members they continue to recruit for a space that simply cannot accommodate them. On multiple occasions there have been over 100 people on the gym floor, while there are only 35 stations and 4 benches. That means roughly three people per station. The wellness area often has around 15 people in it, while the sauna realistically fits five. The total space is 578 sqm (Kadaster data), and once you subtract bathrooms, storage and outdoor and other unusable areas, the usable training space is well under 300 sqm. That comes down to around 2.5 square meters per person. It’s insane. Even the limited bike space outside = must be a nightmare for the neighbours. Air quality is also concerning. Last Tuesday I measured CO₂ levels above 2000 ppm (see screenshot). For reference, anything above 1500 ppm is considered unhealthy, and 3000+ is hazardous. People are doing cardio in this environment. Ventilation is clearly insufficient — even the mirrors remain foggy due to lack of airflow. There was a recent renovation, but instead of improving things, it feels poorly executed. The material quality appears low — for example, an LED light in the showers fell down within a week, which is not only unacceptable but potentially dangerous. The flooring choice is impractical and already shows wear. The space planning makes little sense. The gym is approximately 99% male, yet the female changing room is the same size as the male one, despite being almost always empty. The layout also causes constant issues: the wellness area connects in a way that leads to water being tracked across the floor, and because people walk through in shoes, it quickly turns into a muddy, dirty mess. This renovation could have made things better, but it feels like aesthetics were prioritised over functionality and actual usage patterns. This gym is supposed to operate under the “Red Label – Member Limit” concept, which literally promises limited members, a premium experience, and no overcrowding. In reality, it is the complete opposite. When members complain, the response is that “during lunch time or afternoon it is still not busy enough.” So instead of managing peak hours properly, they continue selling more memberships — even though most people train after work. There are many smarter ways to encourage traffic spread, such as offering true afternoon-only memberships or adjusting incentives (e.g. 2 EUR discount during afternoon instead of 1 EUR). Instead, the approach seems to be simply increasing volume. What used to be a 5-star gym now feels overcrowded, poorly ventilated, badly planned, and driven purely by numbers. For something positioned as premium, this is extremely disappointing.

Negatieve ervaring: I am honestly very disappointed with how much TrainMore Roelof Hartplein (Red Label) has declined. When I joined, this location actually felt premium. It was clean, well managed, and you could train without constantly fighting for equipment. That is no longer the case. The gym is now massively overcrowded. It feels like they keep letting in more and more members without considering the capacity of the space. At peak hours it is chaotic, but even outside peak times it is far too busy. You spend more time waiting than training. This is not what you expect from a Red Label concept. Cleanliness has also clearly deteriorated. Equipment and common areas are not maintained at the level you would expect from a premium gym. The overall atmosphere feels more like a budget chain than a higher tier facility. To be honest, it now feels closer to Basic-Fit than to what is marketed as Red Label. If you charge premium prices, you need to deliver a premium experience. Right now, that balance is completely off. I am sharing this because I actually used to really like this gym. But unless something changes in terms of member control and maintenance standards, it is hard to justify staying.

Positieve ervaring: I’ve been training in this club since 3 months ago, the club is small but with all the equipment you need to train even in recent days they have invested in an INBody , that’s great!! The only negative thing is that despite that is one of the expensive TrainMore locations people don’t respect rules and the staff also don’t do a lot of effort in terms of cleaning and order , hopefully they give attention to this , so we can experience a better club.

Je zal je altijd op je gemak hier voelen. Persoonlijk vindt ik dat ook heel belangrijk en fijn als vrouw. Zeker een aanrader dus!

Fantastische ervaring: Having travelled through all of mainstream Europe and training in all the gyms I must say I get excited coming to amsterdam to workout at Trainmore. The equipment is top tier, the staff are always happy and welcoming, the facilities are just unbelievable!! Free coffee, protein shakes and the all the saunas. If your travelling through amsterdam or are a local go and do yourself a favour and sign up at trainmore red label, it'll change your life!!!

Het is altijd schoon en netjes opgeruimd, zowel in de gym als in de kleedkamers. Genoeg gym apparatuur en een fijne indeling ervan. Op de momenten dat ik sport is het zelden te druk.

Negatieve ervaring: Deze ervaring en review deel ik hier omdat er nergens een contactformulier, chat of e-mailadres te vinden is om feedback te geven: Gisteren kwam de staff mij/ons al om exact 22.30 uit de sauna halen. Terwijl deze nog in gebruik was, hield hij de deur wagenwijd open en moest iedereen direct vertrekken. Omdat hij direct de vloer begon af te nemen (zonder tussenkomst van schoonmaakmiddelen), was er geen mogelijkheid om af te koelen onder de afkoeldouche of in het koudbad. Om 22.35 uur, terwijl ik onder de warme kleedkamerdouche stond (koude douches zijn er daar niet), ging het licht in de kleedkamer meerdere keren kort aan en uit (het is dan volstrekt donker), duidelijk een signaal om op te schieten. De muziek stond ook al uit. Uiteindelijk verliet ik de club rond 22.45 uur, nog steeds zwetend. Ik vind dit een nogal ongastvrije manier van doen. De club gaat dus praktisch gezien om 22.30 al dicht; hierna word je kennelijk vrij letterlijk weggejaagd. Terwijl het eerder op de dag juist zo druk is dat je met enige regelmaat geen kluisjes meer vindt, geen (cardio)apparaat beschikbaar is of er geen plek meer in de sauna is, je in de rij staat voor de afkoeldouche en als je je wilt omkleden/douchen je soms met tot wel 12 man in de kleedkamer staat die ca. 12 m² groot is, wat eigenlijk bizar is. De Redlabel-belofte “Limited spots for an elite, community-driven club” is een valse belofte, daar er geen ledenplafond bestaat. Sterker nog: je komt er regelmatig gratis bezoekers en zelfs toeristen tegen die het members-only-gevoel tenietdoen. Vanwege de drukte pas ik mijn agenda aan of wissel ik af met andere TM-clubs, waar het gek genoeg juist rustiger is. Het moet verder worden gezegd dat de ventilatie in de kelder en kleedkamers tekortschiet. Het zwart geschilderde plafond wordt ongeveer twee keer per jaar opnieuw geschilderd vanwege ernstige schimmelvorming, wat wijst op buitengewoon slechte hygiëne en erop duidt dat het probleem niet bij de bron wordt aangepakt. Dan enkele kleine dingen: de douches worden, zo is mij eens opgevallen, niet dagelijks schoongemaakt; viezigheid blijft soms enkele dagen achter. De vloer in het saunagedeelte is spekglad en vraagt om (geschikte) tegels(?). De staal-op-staal-aansluiting van de douchedeuren met constant geklap vraagt om een strip o.i.d. De zitbank haalt de vloer open bij gebrek aan een paar viltjes. De beschadigde vloertegels bij de koude douche zijn aan vervanging toe en als zowel de afkoeldouche als het koudbad defect zijn, wacht er dan a.u.b. geen hele week mee. De manier van groeten, met name door de clubmanager ervaar ik als doorgaans ongemakkelijk en soms zelfs onvriendelijk. Als wij elkaar bij binnenkomst treffen maar ik niet als eerste groet, word ik of compleet genegeerd of juist afdwingend/dominant begroet. De manager kan zeker vriendelijk zijn, maar mist naar mijn gevoel, algemeen gesteld, de sociale en didactische houding die bij deze functie hoort, of het moet een persoonlijk dingetje zijn, al zou ik niet weten waarom. Tot slot vind ik het opmerkelijk en onacceptabel dat de TM-organisatie zo is ingedeeld dat er geen enkele manier is om schriftelijk contact op te nemen. Zo is er bijvoorbeeld een probleem met de euro-administratie die niet correct werkt, maar waar rapporteer je dit? Alles overwegend geef ik Club Roelof, de positieve aspecten daargelaten, op basis van prijs-kwaliteitverhouding een 5,5/10 oftewel een magere voldoende. Het is zeer de vraag of ik mij tegen de huidige contributie opnieuw zou inschrijven.

Fantastische ervaring: Mijn favo gym, kleinschalig maar alles wat je nodig hebt en goed ingedeeld qua ruimte. Chille sauna(s) en zelfs een ijsbad. En niet te vergeten - staff is super behulpzaam, top!

Whenever you enter these is always a friendly face and if you need assistance they are always happy to help. The music is not overwhelming like most gyms. The members of the gym clean up after their sets which makes it a very nice and helpful environment. The community here is great and honestly if you are a nice person you’ll fit in great!

Oscar runt de locatie en dat doet hij super professioneel en met een persoonlijke touch. Ik kom er het liefst elke dag.

Negatieve ervaring: Ik kreeg bericht via de trainmore app dat koninginenweg nieuwe cable stations krijgt. Hierdoor kan er niet getraind worden de 4e en de 5e van november. We mochten wel naar trainmore roelofhartplein. Ik in alle enthousiasme daar naar toe rijden dinsdag in mijn achterhoofd van nu kan ik eindelijk redlight theraphy uitproberen want ii hoor goede verhalen over maar dat mocht opeens niet van de manager wat ik heel jammer vondt want je moet reserveren. Ik uitleggen dat het niet kan want ik ben een black label member, die kunnen geen reserveringen doen en aangezien ik klant ben (van train more) en daar gestuurd bent voor compensatie had ik wel een wat flexibelle service verwacht want je weet maar nooit mischien stap ik wel over. Dus op het gebied vondt ik de service niet ok, ik voelde me niet welkom door die manager van roelofhart plein.

Positieve ervaring: Kom al een tijdje bij deze sportschool maar met de nieuwe douches slaan ze de plank echt volledig mis. Ze gaan van echt top regendouches naar van die douches die je ziet bij een voetbalclub die sinds 1980 niet verbouwd heeft met een sensor zodat hij na 15 seconden weer uitgaat. Ik weet niet wie dit bedacht heeft maar mag toch hopen dat dit puur tijdelijk is. Om uberhaupt te kunnen douchen moet je tegen de muur aanstaan omdat het water niet verder dan 20 centimeter van de muur af komt. Echt bizar dat dit erin gezet is bij een verder hele fijne sportschool. Zonde.

Negatieve ervaring: I expected a premium experience at Red Label Roelof Hartplein, but was very disappointed. There is no respect culture: bars, benches and plates are left scattered everywhere, members sit or lie on equipment without training, and staff do little to enforce basic etiquette. Cleanliness is also poor, with dust on the floor and wet corridors left uncleaned. Equipment is badly organized, some already rusting, and the sauna swimwear policy is unhygienic. For a club positioned as "premium," the standards here are far too low.

Plenty of free weights, deadlift stations, squat racks, etc. Besides the clean interior, everyone was so considerate racking their weights and putting everything back in place. Their staff member Lotta was super friendly and really made the visit 100% better.

Negatieve ervaring: Red Label is misschien wel de grootste scam van sportscholen in Nederland. Niets maar dan ook helemaal niets van de 'beloften' waar Red Label voor zou staan wordt waargemaakt. Ledenstop is er niet of dusdanig hoog dat het alsnog even druk is als bij een SportCity waar een abonnement 30 euro kost. Ik vraag me af of er überhaupt ooit wordt schoongemaakt, ik heb het in ieder nog nooit zien gebeuren.

Negatieve ervaring: I signed up for this gym mainly because of the wellness area, especially the infrared sauna. Nobody mentioned that it would be out of order for a full month!!!there was no warning, no disclaimer, nothing on the website or during the sign-up process. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for facilities you can’t use. When I asked about alternatives, I was told I could only go to one Red Label location but barely any gyms even have a functioning sauna. I feel misled, and I’m seriously reconsidering my membership. TrainMore should be upfront with members about service disruptions before they join,not after. A wellness-focused gym should know better.
