Fantastische ervaring: Joris heeft mij super goed geholpen als Personal Trainer. Heb mijn hele leven gesport en heb voor het eerst een keer PT geprobeerd. Is me uitzonderlijk goed bevallen. In een relatieve korte periode ben ik erg blij met de gemaakte progressie. Thanks en tot gauw!

Fantastische ervaring: Great gym! I like how it gets better every time and always adds new equipment and options. The only thing I missed before were good group classes. Yoga used to be not so good, but now there is a proper yoga class. New trainer Sofia explains everything clearly and leads the class with a very nice flow. The new yoga is stronger and more active, so I can really work out there now. Now I am happy and can give all 5 stars. Thank you for always improving for your clients!

Positieve ervaring: Mooie gym, veel apparatuur en prima omgeving. Mag in het weekend ook wel eerder open gaan en de shake+water vending machine zijn regelmatig kapot.

Fantastische ervaring: Hele fijne Black Label Gym met goede apparaten, fijn personeel en goede muzieksmaak! Geen Top 40 meuk hier, gewoon lekker UK Garage met House en Techno. De protein smoothie is natuurlijk de kers (of liever gezegd eiwit) op de taart. Train hier nu een tijdje onder het toeziend oog van Joris, een van de PT'ers. Wij kwamen elkaar random tegen tijdens het doen van hack squats (wilden allebei tegelijk gaan) en Joris had gelijk wat tips voor mij, bijvoorbeeld over het gebruiken van blokken om zo mijn mobiliteit op het diepste punt te vergroten. Instant win! Toen hij vertelde dat hij PT'er was, en ik me al een tijdje 'doelloos' met wat GPT schema's in de gym begaf, heb ik besloten om bij hem een programma met begeleiding aan te gaan. We zijn nu een tijdje verder en ik voel dat ik gericht aan het trainen ben met een lach en met eerlijke feedback. Heb het hier heel erg naar m'n zin, ondanks de drukte op z'n tijd maar vooral tijdens PT's voel ik dat Joris z'n aandacht volledig bij mij ligt!

Positieve ervaring: Decent mid-range gym with a well-considered balance of equipment. Some complaints but very good for the price if you train often. The layout can feel a bit odd as it’s one long space and some equipment feels squeezed in (cardio machines are in a high traffic corridor area which is distracting while using them). But at peak times people are well distributed through the gym because for example there are upper body machines at both ends of the gym. I miss a couple of pieces of equipment like a lateral raise machine. The men’s changing room needs better ventilation as it usually stinks. And I wish it would be open in the evening at weekends as that’s when I want to train the most! I do find that annoying. But overall the staff are friendly - always welcome with a hello; there are good machines, classes and food options. For the price it’s the best in the area.

Fantastische ervaring: I trained with Joris for a while and was consistently impressed by his depth of knowledge and coaching style. He doesn’t just show you how to perform each exercise. He takes the time to explain the why: the muscles involved, the proper form, and how each movement fits into your overall goals. What really stood out was how he broke down the ins and outs of every exercise so I understood exactly what I was doing and how to improve. Joris also provided secondary options for each exercise, which made it easy to adjust when the gym was overcrowded. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who combines expertise with clear, motivating guidance, Joris is an excellent choice.

Fantastische ervaring: Training with Sofia has been an amazing experience. They are very knowledgeable, motivating, and always tailor the workouts to my goals and abilities. I really appreciate the clear guidance, patience, and encouragement – it keeps me motivated and makes every session enjoyable. I can already feel the progress thanks to their support! Highly recommended.

Positieve ervaring: Just like other black labels in Amsterdam, TM Ijburg is a complete, high-end gym. Great staff, large equipments and not so packed. Whenever the Sauna is Off, ask a staff member and it will be turned on immediately.

Negatieve ervaring: Disappointing Experience with Body Pump Trainer today. Unfortunately, my experience with the Body Pump trainer was quite disappointing. As a new participant, I didn’t feel welcomed or supported. The trainer seemed dismissive toward newcomers, often laughing or making comments that felt unkind rather than encouraging. There was no effort to explain the exercises clearly, and the overall attitude made it feel like being new was a problem rather than an opportunity to learn. It left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. That said, I want to highlight that my overall experience at the gym has been positive. The staff and personal trainers have been friendly, helpful, and professional. It’s just unfortunate that this particular class did not reflect the same standard. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this specific class, but the rest of the team has been great.

Negatieve ervaring: It is absolutely disgusting that the stair masters are placed right in-front of the mens changing room. Every man that walks by gets a free pass of staring at the ass of every woman working out. It’s absolutely degrading and heavily perpetuates the objectification of women. Absolutely insane that this was approved. Not to mention it is absurdly hot in the gym, definitely cutting corners on proper ventilation and temperature control. And lastly, not allowed to use the back room where classes are sometimes hosted. Because every noise is heard by the upstairs.. like this is my problem? Place acoustic barriers or something Oh I forgot to mention they have this huge screen that constantly displays half naked women on the screen ‘working out’ - another way to continuously objectify women I pay 95 euros a month to be objectified every time I work out, not allowed to work out where there is room, mirrors and a safe space… and have to pause my cardio so I don’t faint This place is not a safe space to work out in

Fantastische ervaring: Great gym!! Has everything I need, including classes, sauna, long opening hours - there is really no excuse not to work out. I think there could be improvements in terms of transparency of the subscription process, but I would still highly recommend to subscribe.

Fantastische ervaring: Afgelopen maandag (12 Mei) ben ik hier geweest. Heel fijn ervaring gehad bij deze locatie. Ik ben voor het eerst naar een sportschool geweest. Was er best zenuwachtig over omdat ik een lichamelijke beperking heb en ik was bang dat ik niet zou kunnen werken met de apparatuur (Komt wel overeen met de apparatuur die ik bij mijn fysio heb gezien). Medewerkster heeft mij prima geholpen met mijn vragen en het verstellen van de apparatuur. Het was verder wel rustig genoeg om rustig me ding te kunnen doen. Het is zo dat ik een abonnement elders heb die binnenkort ingaat, anders had ik zeker een Trainmore abonnement afgesloten. Top locatie.

Negatieve ervaring: Be careful, they are not trustworthy. When I was deciding which plan to choose for my son, they recommended the annual plan. I mentioned that there was a possibility he might move to another country. That’s when the representative assured me that this wouldn’t be a problem because, in that case, the plan could be canceled if we provided a flight ticket. So we did exactly that—at the reception, we presented the ticket and requested the cancellation. The representative took the printed document, typed something into a small computer, and told us everything was fine. But to my surprise, the plan was not canceled, and they continued charging the monthly fees. When I contacted the company, they said that just providing the flight ticket was not enough to prove that he had moved and that, unfortunately, they couldn’t confirm what was verbally stated at the time of purchase. Convenient, right? They solve their employees’ poor training issues by avoiding any responsibility for what is said during the sale. Be very careful with this company. They are not trustworthy.

Fantastische ervaring: Train alweer een tijdje bij TrainMore, ook met PT’er Joris. Heel erg fijn en goede samenwerking. Goed advies en mooi op maat. Mocht je personal training overwegen dan kan ik Joris van harte aanbevelen!

Fantastische ervaring: Geweldige sportschool met alles wat je nodig hebt! Ik kom vier dagen per week bij TrainMore op IJburg, en ik ben echt heel tevreden. De sportschool is ruim en heeft een brede selectie aan apparatuur, dus je kunt echt elke spiergroep goed aanpakken. Het is er altijd netjes en de sfeer is prettig. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze staan altijd klaar voor een praatje of om te helpen als je vragen hebt over een oefening. Een extra pluspunt is dat je hier gratis koffie, thee, sportdrank én zelfs een proteïneshake kunt krijgen, wat het trainen echt compleet maakt. Daarnaast zijn de openingstijden erg fijn, waardoor ik mijn training goed kan inplannen rond mijn werk en andere verplichtingen. Kortom, TrainMore IJburg biedt echt alles wat ik zoek in een sportschool. Een absolute aanrader!

Fantastische ervaring: Great gym, the management team is friendly and welcoming. They have also renovated the place which have significantly improved the aesthetic. Suggestion: it would be nice to have the ability to check your BMI and fat percentage. This may already be there but it’s not very evident. All in all, I’m happy with the gym - feels like home. Fantastische ervaring: Topgym! Ik kom hier nu ruim 3 jaar en ben echt super tevreden. Alles ziet er modern en schoon uit, en door de grote ramen heb je lekker veel daglicht tijdens het trainen. De apparatuur is top en er is zoveel keuze dat je bijna nooit hoeft te wachten. Het personeel is geweldig - ze weten precies waar ze het over hebben en staan altijd klaar om te helpen. De extra's maken het helemaal af: gratis koffie, sportdrank én eiwitshakes! Doordeweeks al om 6 uur open, ideaal voor de vroege vogels. Na een zware workout even chillen in de sauna is ook een dikke plus. Enige minpuntje: de kleedkamer. Na de renovatie van een paar maanden geleden zijn er minder banken, dus het is soms een beetje proppen na het douchen. Maar goed, dat weegt niet op tegen alle pluspunten. Al met al een 5-sterren ervaring! Aanrader voor iedereen die serieus wil sporten in een fijne omgeving.

Positieve ervaring: Nice gym, but cleaning and maintaining it that way is not a priority. Black smears on floors, dust behind or under equipment. When you look up an occasional spiderweb greets you. For these prices a shame. When looking at some negative reviews they are still valid. Trainmore Ijburg needs to do better!

Fantastische ervaring: Very nice and modern gym, friendly staff and a huge range of machines to target different muscles. Plenty of variety! The new locker rooms and extra relaxation area are a big improvement. Only thing I miss is the body composition scale which was taken away a while ago. Overall great experience

Negatieve ervaring: Used to be a good gym untill it was taken over by Trainmore. Paid online at Trainmore 70euro for a membership but apparently it was not valid for this branche but only some other Trainmore gyms. Also staff did not know the rules and conditions and there was no option to contact anyone online or by phone for support. I received a membership termination notice before I even could started and in fact I eventually never started. Basically donated 70euro to the money takers of this now dominant gym chain. Not recommended, look elsewhere!

Negatieve ervaring: TrainMore Ijburg was at best 3 stars in the past. After long awaited renovations it became … worse??? The lockers used to be rfid tag (the TrainMore member tag) locked and unlocked, now they force you to bring your own pad lock, oh but wait, they offer to SELL you one from the vending machine. They used to have mediocre protein shakes, now you need to bring your own shaker for those. They used to have ice cold water on tap, it’s now a little cooler than room temp. Feels a lot LESS convenient than it was. Oh no wait, they made room for new equipment that no one will ever use, yay. And wait, this is meant to be a Black Label gym… a more premium version… pfff. I’m sorry TrainMore management, but you completely missed the mark on *improving* this gym. F A I L

Negatieve ervaring: Disaster! Customer support is always out of reach. You fill in forms you get an answer in 2-3 months. They have an agreement documentation that you sign for if I cancel my membership you can get how much you want- in my case 900- there is no explanation why you have to pay it. Hope you guys get soon what you deserve.

Positieve ervaring: Spacious and with high-quality equipment, great if you just want to do your thing. Also good choice of courses and nice atmosphere. Uncomplicated. Approachable and friendly staff.

Negatieve ervaring: Moved to a different part of Amsterdam. Not allowed to change to a different membership from a different trainmore gym, because I was stuck with the black label gym membership and not able to "downgrade" to one of their own gyms. Have been paying the full price for months now because of their stupid rules. Never again.

Fantastische ervaring: I trained there only for 3 weeks, and I didn't try the showers, sauna or group classes. But at least the machines are new and good ones (from technogym brand), and the staff is friendly. I would train there if I live nearby

Negatieve ervaring: I had a personal trainer intake, which was part of my 3 month contract, and the young man had little knowledge about the gym and the machines - he would point to the images on the machine and say "this is how you do it". He was rushing to get it done earlier and was simply not helpful at all. A waste of time. He also couldn't say anything about the TrainMore app and how it works. TrainMore in Ijburg costs the same as other units more central in the city but is a lot less cool in terms of interior design, atmosphere and even size.

Negatieve ervaring: Avoid this gym, if you can. Many things aren’t working properly (sauna, men’s changing room looks bad, A/C, billing system). Even though the manager, Mitchel, is a very friendly guy, he is totally dependent on the HQ, and the HQ does not care much about this location. Waste of money

Negatieve ervaring: Het soort mensen dat de sportschool gebruikt, is op een slechte manier veranderd sinds het nu een Train More is. Ik zeg mijn lidmaatschap op omdat het helemaal niet meer is wat ik wil in een sportschool. Kluisjes zijn kapot, jonge luidruchtige menigte gebruikt 5 machines, waarvan slechts 2 jongens hun telefoonluidsprekers gebruiken om te telefoneren.

Negatieve ervaring: I live above the gym and whenever someone is using the weights I can hear it in my house. I am tired of calling the team and going there and asking them to solve the problem. Also there is no phone number anymore where I can call and tell the guys to manage the noise. I need to come downstairs in my pajamas. So if you prefer not to bother some kind people like myself and my neighbors, I recommend choosing other sports venues here in ijburg. Did you think about kickboxing or HIT? These could be fantastic alternatives for build strength without bothering people!

Negatieve ervaring: The gym is very nice but BE AWARE with the contracts. Even they advertise that if you move 10 klm away your contract can end , they continue to try charge you by sending you notices that y have to pay, even you send a notice 1 month before and even you have the proof of Cancellation.

Negatieve ervaring: Vies, telefonisch niet bereikbaar maar het personeel zit wel op hun telefoon of lekker te chillen met de matties. Totaal geen interesse. Als mijn jaarabonnement afloopt maar eens verder kijken want voor deze prijs verwacht je wel meer.

Negatieve ervaring: Precies weer z’n Trainmore. Stop nou alsjeblieft met uitbreiden jullie moeten eerst weer naar de tekentafel. Service en kwaliteit is nergens te bekennen. Massa is kassa was het zeker. Erg jammer dat goede en leuke bedrijven verdwijnen door dit soort ketens. Geld binnen harken maar kwaliteit van je bedrijf compleet vergeten.

Positieve ervaring: Geen fan van de technogym apparaten, beste zou zijn als deze vervangen worden door de hammerstrength apparaten die andere black labels ook hebben

Fantastische ervaring: Mooie nette sportschool. Onlangs uitgebreid. Technogym apparaten. Kleine maar goede sauna.

Negatieve ervaring: Top sportschool. Alles wordt goed schoongemaakt en personeel is altijd vriendelijk. Dat was mijn review voor fitness centrum IJburg. Train more is super slecht, kluisjes defect, geen hygiëne en papieren doekjes/toiletpapier worden nooit bijgevuld. Echt een drama nu ze het hebben overgenomen.

Negatieve ervaring: Onwijs slechte service. Ik betreur het dat Fitness IJburg hier weg is gegaan, want met hun was het een wereld van verschil. Er moet nog veel worden gedaan aan de communicatie en service bij dit bedrijf. Ik zou het weren, er zijn genoeg andere - betere - sportscholen waar je zou kunnen trainen.

Negatieve ervaring: Groot, best schoon. Min punten: erg duur (in een vergelijkbaare stad in andere europese landen betaal je 1/3) muziek te hard, schoonmaker komt tijdens openingstijden, sommige medewerkers onvriendelijk

Fantastische ervaring: Fijne, compacte en schone gym met vriendelijk personeel. Hebben alles wat je nodig hebt voor een goede workout.

Negatieve ervaring: Laat je niet misleiden! De goede reviews zijn van de tijd dat Fitness IJburg hier nog zat… wat een onwijs nare sportschool is dit geworden.

Fantastische ervaring: ik heb in de opstart periode van Trainmore IJburg een slechte review geschreven waar ik toen volledig achter stond maar wil nu 1 jaar verder, na het hele verbouwingsproces, hier op terug komen en heb daarom de oude recensie verwijder omdat deze in de verste verte niet meer voldoet aan de huidige situatie. De sportschool is nu de verbouwing voltooid is een prachtige Gym geworden met top apparatuur en heel fijn personeel. Chapeau Trainmore ! Amsterdam IJburg is op elk gebied een top sportschool rijker.

Negatieve ervaring: You pay a high monthly fee but you receive no value. Lockers are always out of service. Space is very limited. They told me they would renovate the gym but we are now 9 months later and almost nothing happened.

Negatieve ervaring: After the train more acquisition, the gym became very overcrowded, there are machines everywhere and no free space. They have a room at the back that could be used when no classes are happening, but they keep it locked. In the evening small groups of young guys coming together, talking loud and holding machines for very long time make the workout very stressful. The staff could take more action

Negatieve ervaring: Sinds de overname van Trainmore ligt de focus op makkelijk geld verdienen. Prijzen gaan omhoog (premium 'black label'), service gaat omlaag (personeel, hygiëne, voorzieningen zoals kluisjes en sauna). Schaamteloze oplichterij.

Positieve ervaring: Redelijke gym. Snap alleen niet dat dit een “black label” heeft. Gemiddelde niet black label Trainmore ziet er vele malen beter uit. Alhoewel gezegd wordt dat de gym nog getransformeerd wordt zijn de afgelopen twee maanden nul veranderingen geweest. Plus punt zijn de gratis eiwitshakes

Negatieve ervaring: Er zijn weinig tot geen kluisjes aanwezig. Het personeel zit liever op hun telefoon. Er wordt weinig schoon gemaakt douche en sauna.

Negatieve ervaring: I am quite unhappy with this gym. I have been training here since winter '22 and I have noticed many issues that they seem to not be able to fix. First of all, the lockers: I lost the count of how many months most of the lockers have been broken/not available. You can see yourself in the picture. This is just not acceptable given the price we pay. What is also very annoying is that often the machine for protein drinks does not work/is not available/is broken. Moreover, I know that saunas in the female changing room is often shut down, especially if you go later in the day. But I don't care what time it is: if the gym is open, it should work! In bars and restaurants people work after closing hours to clean and shut down all the machines, so I don't see why this gym should be an exception. Last remark on the employees: they often don't know how to help me/answer questions and they have proven to be quite useless when I had to sort out things like membership issues and so on. For example, one time I asked them to cancel my membership because I wanted to update it and they filled in the form in front of me with an iPad, but -- a month later -- surprise! My membership was not cancelled! How is that possible? Now I try to do everything myself so that I don't have to interact with them anymore.

Negatieve ervaring: Great gym, great equipment, but it is very frustrating that the sauna is closed between 12:30 and 17:30 especially for people like me who work the night shifts and like to jump in the sauna before work because by the time I finish work the gym is closed. One of the main reasons I got this subscription is so I can use saunas, but apparently its not even possible for 55 euros, (I dont mind the price, but I do mind paying for services I cant even use), which is why I’m most likely not renewing my sub and moving to another gym that is delivering better service for a more reasonable price.
