Positieve ervaring: This has been my gym for a few months and it’s great. Not too crowded, the playlist is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a big need for more equipment e.g lying leg curl machine - this is standard equipment every gym should have. They also need to invest in ventilation, the mens changing rooms smells at times. it’s extremely hot in the area downstairs with no fan or proper ventilation or circulation. This is extremely unhygienic.

Fantastische ervaring: Most spacious gym I've had in Amsterdam (been to a lot of Trainmores, and other competitors). It has everything you need, for all types of training. Came for the sauna which is top notch. Everything seems brand new. I recommend

Negatieve ervaring: Not enough machines. Missing a lot of machines to do full body workouts. No music so the vibe is boring. And pricey

Fantastische ervaring: Sinds 5 maanden train ik elke dag en 3x per week met fysio therapeut! Relaxte sfeer en super lieve mensen die altijd helpen met advies of gewoon vriendelijk praatje. Ik kon niet meer lopen, alleen soort pijnlijk strompelen maar na 5 maanden kan ik weer lopen, ben er nog niet maar de sfeer is zo fijn dat ik er graag naartoe ga en mijn zware dagelijkse schema kan volhouden! Ze verdienen TIEN sterren!! ️️️️️

Negatieve ervaring: It's a bummer they're so pricey, because if they were more affordable, I'd definitely come back just for the sauna. Sure, the cost might be worth it if you're into classes, but I'm more about doing my own thing, hitting the gym, and then chilling in the sauna. Plus, the sauna was out of order most of the time I had my subscription, and they didn't offer any refunds for it. I wasn't exactly expecting a refund, but that was the main reason I picked Sportcity, so it was a major letdown.

Fantastische ervaring: Personeel is top, genoeg ruimte/apparaten & schoon! Mahmod/Mo heeft mij erg goed geholpen met een trainingsschema en uitleg van oefeningen; Titus is altijd erg vriendelijk & behulpzaam.

Negatieve ervaring: dirty, no mirrors, and overpriced

Negatieve ervaring: I workout here because my employer pays for my membership. The contract is between my employer and the gym , the employees had no say in the franchise. That being said I kept my basic fit membership I pay for myself regardless simply because the equipment there is way more diverse and in better condition. The staff here is awesome those 2 stars are for them. It’s very transparent that the biggest flaws in this gym can only be corrected by someone in upper management/ regional management. Aka budget approval. These are the same guys that think up those contracts you can’t get out of. The poor teenagers behind the counter are obviously not authorized to approve new equipment purchases, so don’t unleash your inner Karen on them.

Negatieve ervaring: Terrible !!! I cancelled my membership after one year and they reactivated it without my consent and force me to pay 2 more months ! I don’t recommend it at all!

Negatieve ervaring: I have recently started at this gym which, compared to others, is considered "luxury" due to its higher price. Unfortunately, there is no welcome package, no bag, no water bottle, nothing at all. NO MIRRORS (how’s this possible?). Some equipment is broken and not fixed. Dressing room is dirty, showers are REALLY dirty, sometimes it’s a disgusting. The price is definitely too high for what you get; unfortunately, attention to detail seems to be lacking.

Positieve ervaring: Fijne sportschool; ruim opgezet, veel groepslessen, vriendelijk personeel. Incl sauna en stoombad in de kleedkamer.

Fantastische ervaring: Helemaal prima. Aardig, zorgzaam en behulpzaam personeel. Goeie TechnoGym apparatuur, fijne apps om je schema mee te tracken en te tweaken, persoonlijke updates voor je voortgang. En alles schoon en netjes.

Positieve ervaring: Mooie gym, vrij groot met mooie apparaaten die meten hoeveel reps je hebt gedaan. Het is wel een vrouwengym dus weinig aandacht voor zware gewichten. Maar 1 bankdruk bank en geen spiegels in de dumbel sectie.

Negatieve ervaring: Worn down equipment, nothing gets fixed, and the gym doesn't have a single mirror. Not a single mirror. How do you adjust your posture correctly?

Fantastische ervaring: The GYM is clean and tidy and the trainers are super qualified, always attentive, friendly and available to share their knowledge.

Negatieve ervaring: Krachthok heeft een laag plafond waardoor je oefeningen niet kan doen. Ook staat er maar 1 bankdrukset waar je de schijnven moeilijk op de stang krijgt omdat de set ingeklemd staat in een klein hoekje. Geen decline en incline benches en geen spiegels.

Negatieve ervaring: Always have a problem regarding the cancellation, this place keeps sending invoices and refers to a agreement terms when you complain. Your staff is not qualified to give explanation about that terms, also suggests wrong subscription if I have problems later. As a gym, the only reason I was going is it was close to my place, otherwise it’s ridiculous, wet sauna broken over a year, many broken equipment that is not fixed on a timely manner and lack of crucial equipment like incline bench and straight bar for pull-ups. This is not a place if you are going to workout properly. Totally disappointed how they run business, -1 customer .

Negatieve ervaring: Speciaal hier lid geworden vanwege de beschikbaarheid van kinderopvang, nooit plek en zonder bericht plots in de weekenden helemaal niet meer beschikbaar. Jammer dat er niet over gecommuniceerd wordt.

Positieve ervaring: Vriendelijke ambiance en divers publiek, echte binnenstad club. Alles wat je nodig hebt voor een goede work out is aanwezig. Sauna en Turks stoombad als beloning na het sporten.

Fantastische ervaring: Elke sportschool van Sportcity is een aanrader maar de Sportcity van het Waterlooplein spant w.m.b. de kroon. Er is aandacht voor iedereen, er loopt zeer gekwalificeerd personeel rond en de algehele leiding van deze sportschool is in zeer gekwalificeerde handen. Heel veel potentie!

Fantastische ervaring: I love this gym. The staff are wonderful, they have excellent teachers and trainers, it’s incredibly clean, plus the women’s sauna is lovely.

Negatieve ervaring: Sportcity's policy says my subscription provides access to 88 clubs throughout NL. Not to mislead customers they should have added "except for a few clubs in Amsterdam with premium class facilities". Did not know sauna was a luxury in NL. Came this morning for the sauna only and was rejected, offered to pay as a one-off visit, was rejected. Customer-friendly attitude is unheard of here. Waste of my time to drive there from Amsterdam Noord and back. With best wishes from my country Ukraine where saunas are at every corner and customers are never kicked out the way you did this morning.

Fantastische ervaring: Nette sportschool.jebword warm verwelkomd netjes ontvangen, het geeft en goed gevoel al kom je eenmaals of elke dag,je Bouw wat op samen met hun . Kwa service winnen hun de hoofdprijs van elek sportcity.

And the lady Marijn or whatever is her name, you are rude not the customers, the customers apparently are tired of your staff and yourself. ✌

Positieve ervaring: Een beetje onpersoonlijk. Niet gezellig, zeker als je er nooit geweest bent. Apparaten wel mooi uit elkaar staand zodat je niet ziek wordt van je buur 5 cm verderop. Stoffig merk ik aan mijn astma. Er moeten betere hygiëne middelen dwz ontsmetters staan. Genoeg apparaten. Wel ok, maar ook aan de prijs.

Negatieve ervaring: Somebody broke into my locker and stole my bag (with wallet keys phone etc.) and they didn’t help me at all. They could just check cameras as thief had to be somebody from sport city (i mean at least member, as strangers from the street can’t enter) but they didn’t. I found out they checked cameras for somebody else, but they didn’t want to do it for me, meaning thet do absolutely nothing in case somebody steals something from your locker. They said lockers are not their responsibility, so before you become member of this gym please think twice. This place is not safe and it’s not first comment from somebody who was robbed there, so just keep that in mind.

Negatieve ervaring: Geen spiegels. Super veel cardio apparatuur maar weinig voor kracht training en nog maals GEEN 1 SPIEGEL??? Wel is iedereen hier minder gespierd dan in andere sportcity's dus is wel goed voor je ego. Heb me nog nooit zo breed gevoelt in verhouding met de rest

Negatieve ervaring: Goedenavond, ik schrijf dit met een zeer teleurgestelde en vermoeide toon. Beide seated leg press-machines zijn kapot en ik kan niet trainen zoals ik zou moeten, wat niet ideaal is gezien de kosten van mijn maandelijkse abonnement. Als gevolg van deze overlast moet ik naar andere sportscholen gaan om een volledige training te krijgen. Ik hoop dat de situatie verandert.

Negatieve ervaring: It's been years since I’m a client at Sport City and today I felt EXCLUDED for not being Dutch. The yoga teacher told me that she teaches in Dutch only and for a few minutes I felt forced to leave the class (not very inclusive of yours, Sport City). At the end the other people convinced her to do the class on both English and Dutch, but I was quite upset. If there is one reason I’ll cancel my subscription - it’s this one: lack of inclusion and consideration for a loyal non dutch customers. Or at least, you can make it clear on schedule, which classes are taught on Dutch, which is not the case at the moment. Really upset with this, Sport City.

Fantastische ervaring: Hele fijne gastvrije plek!! Met veel opties om te sporten, zowel uitgebreid aanbod aan groepslessen van fijne ervaren instructeurs als fitness en wellness. De moeite waard dus om eens een kijkje te nemen. Ook de mogelijkheid om meerdere locaties in Amsterdam en omstreken te gebruiken maakt dat ik hier al meer dan 10 jaar lid ben. Let s go dus ;)!!

Negatieve ervaring: De plaats is prima. Er zijn helemaal geen spiegels, dus hoe moet je je formulier controleren als je alleen traint? Pure vainilla ‍♀️

Positieve ervaring: Nice location, nice atmosphere, kind staff and gym members. Unfortunately not a lot of maintenance is done, things get stolen (attachments for cable machines for example) but not replaced, same goes for resistance bands and other stuff, one day they are there, one day they're not. Overall nice gym especially if you don't need a lot of different machines. Would have loved to see assisted pull-up machines, and some more equipment for lower body work..I needed something more to progress, that's why I quit after two years

Positieve ervaring: Heerlijke sportschool, rustige, vriendelijke sfeer, schoon en prima apparaten. Soms kleedkamers overvol (te klein) en indien defect (kan altijd gebeuren) blijven apparaten vaak (te) lang ongerepareerd. Het gebrek aan spiegels blijf ik een rare beslissing vinden en geeft risico op blessures door oncontroleerbare uitvoering van zwaardere compound oefeningen. Zeker rondom squat racks gewoon noodzakelijk indien je jezelf een serieuze sportschool noemt. Heeft niets met ijdelheid o.i.d. te maken. Over algemeen zeer tevreden.

Fantastische ervaring: SportCity is a very decent gym. Unlike other cheaper options, equipments are new, staff is friendly and so are the customers. Now there’s traffic control due to Corona measures so be aware that you need to book a spot 3-4 days in advance and that no matter the hour of the day, occupation will be at its maximum.

Negatieve ervaring: Despite of modern machines and great group lesson teachers such as Sanna and Alcides, the hardware of the gym hall is quite deteriorated. Ventilation and audio systems are often broken that leads to short of breath, overheat dehydration and interruption in the group lessons. The floor of the hall is often dirty and slippery that members must pay extra attention during sporting. ( Mind your step!) The problems have been long existed with lack of improvement.

Fantastische ervaring: Great location. Very clean gym with different areas to exercise. Great new machines. The people who works here seem friendly. The showers are well kept and clean. There is several rooms. One for classes as well. It is not crowded and the people who come here are also friendly and create a positive environment.

Negatieve ervaring: Apparently staff has favourites among the clients and prefer/pay attention to certain type of whiny customers with personal preferences rather than to invest in people that are actually there to do sports. Was a huge fan till got kicked out cause i guess I didn’t fit the clique between staff and their friends. Ended my contract right away. Never gonna visit again. Good luck.

Negatieve ervaring: €105 moeten betalen nadat ik mijn abonnement opzegde, omdat mij valse beloftes waren gedaan bij inschrijving. Bij inschrijving was mij toegezegd dat ik, als ik een 2-jarig abonnement af zou sluiten, mij abonnement zonder extra kosten op kon zeggen bij verhuizing naar het buitenland. Toen ik daadwerkelijk wilde opzeggen kreeg ik, pas 2 weken na mijn mail, een factuur van €250 omdat ik met terugwerkende kracht mijn City- naar een Flex-abonnement moest wijzigen. Gebeld met het filiaal: hier werkten de medewerkers niet mee, waren alleen bezig met hun eigen gelijk halen in plaats van met samen naar een oplossing zoeken. Daarbij was de manager buiten kantooruren niet aanwezig, waardoor ik (met kantoorbaan) hem niet kon spreken. Na veel gesteggel en gebel (alleen van mijn kant, zij deden geen enkele poging mij te bereiken) heb ik meerdere weken na mijn eerste poging tot opzeggen, het abonnement over kunnen dragen aan iemand anders. Toen ik met de manager belde adviseerde hij me nota bene het abonnement "nog even snel over te dragen, zodat het nieuwe lid afgelopen termijn kan betalen". Terwijl deze persoon die termijn niet had gesport. Ongehoord.

Fantastische ervaring: This is a beautiful gym. It is not crowded at rush hour compared to others that I have been in Amsterdam. Very clean. Friendly personal. The type of people that go here seems to be professionals and if not they act like one which is great. They have towels if you request for it Machines are very modern with digital screens for the most part. I've been going to this place for about 4 months....

Fantastische ervaring: Nice gym with many classes and friendly people except it is extremely STRANGE- not one mirror in the gym?! How is one supposed to see their posture?? Unheard of... It would be also nice if they can provide a towel service and one cleaning personnel in the room after group classes.

Negatieve ervaring: Ik sport al zeer lang bij deze sportschool. Nu was het de regel dat je geen halterhempjes aan mag. Jarenlang droegen veel mensen dit wel en sinds kort mag het ineens niet...ok begrijpelijk echter mag je ook geen cap meer dragen. Waar dit vandaan komt..who knows. Daarnaast staat het ook heel raar als je als medewerker tegen een heer zegt dat hij geen halterhempje aan mag terwijl daarnaast een meid staat de sporten met een mouwloos topje. Tijd voor een andere sportschool.

Negatieve ervaring: I went to register in the gym and the coworker who was trying to help me “Rafeale” was so unfriendly. She was dealing with me like she is my manager. She was giving me orders while um filling out the contract which is in Dutch, after I wasted 15 Minutes waiting for her she told me that she need more 10 minuets to put me on the system and then I will be allowed to do use the gym. I went for coffee and when I came half an hour later, she told me that I still have to wait because she didn’t manage to put me on the system. Although I really liked the gym I didn’t really want to register anymore because of her attitude. Also everything is only in Dutch so as an expat I really felt unwelcome there. Or she is un-nice person or they are nazis and they have their way not to welcome foreigners both ideas are so bad. Never coming back or recommending this place to anyone!

Positieve ervaring: Don't take into account the comments on the equipment being old, as all the cardio equipment has been changed this fall. The gym is great, very friendly staff, always someone to help or inform you. The person who had a bad experience with one employee in a previous comment : I think it was probably a misunderstanding and a lack of knowing dutch people. They can seem rough in their communication, specially at first encounter, but it's more a cultural thing than actually meant as such. I have been training at Sportcity for two years. It is very nice and spacious, specially considering the location. In September and January it tends to be a bit too crowded, due to good resolutions I guess, and the men's lockers room tends to become a bit chaotic and at times, not too clean. But overall still very manageable, and when you go to a gym, it's not to hang out in the showers.

Positieve ervaring: This gym has everything, including lots of different classes (yoga, zumba, spinning, etc). Lots of new equipment, friendly staff (mostly). There are also a sauna and steam room in the locker rooms. The reason I gave it a 4 star: had an encounter with one rude staff, no mirrors in the entire gym (tho I understand why), not enough lifting stations (only 2), free weights area can be bigger. But overall still a nice gym!

Negatieve ervaring: I joined SportCity on monthly payment than after 1 month I requested to stop the membership and I handle my card. After 4 months I received a bill because the membership was going on and they asked for money. I contacted them and they said they could not find the termination form and because it was after many months I did not kept my receipt as I moved outside Holland. I tried to explain all but they blackemail me with extra cost and to make it short I just paid. I will never used this Gym again. Please read careful the contract also the payment is every 4 weeks and not monthly Try other gym as they are greedy about money

Fantastische ervaring: Eindelijk een sportclub gevonden waar ik mij thuis voel. Buiten het feit om dat het een mooie club is- o.a. door het gebruik van mooie materialen- is de sfeer gewoon enorm goed. Werknemers zijn super aardig en representatief en heel kundig. De apparatuur vind ik fijn en deze wordt goed onderhouden. Schoon, alles is heel en staat goed opgesteld. Wat leden betreft vind ik het een leuke mix van mensen. Iedereen is best serieus met sporten bezig zonder het te fanatieke sportschool sfeertje waar men met dumbles gooit en jouw aan de andere kant van de club wil laten weten dat er zwaar gelift en geduwd wordt (en geschreeuwd)... Die leden kom je gewoon niet tegen. Iets wat ik heel fijn vind. Ik heb mijn contract vorige week voor twee jaar verlengd! Ondanks er meerdere filialen in Amsterdam zitten, ga ik uitsluitend naar deze op 't Waterlooplein.

Positieve ervaring: Good location. Clean. Spacious. Value for money. If you are looking for training with free weights and mirrors then this gym is not what you are looking for. If you are looking for a gym for ' fitness' then this gym is good.
